Bathala is a small island, still most of our guests who goes to Bathala considers the island attractive. Indeed, the island is really attractive. Like it's neighboring island HALAVELI; Bathala is a dive island.
The island is almost situated on the outside of the Ari Atoll, and it's lucky enough to have quick access to great dive-sites. Further as you can see from your right-side picture the island has an extremely good beach. |

As you can see from our MAP (Tourism zone), the 4 resorts; Bathala, Maayafushi, Ellaidhoo and Halaveli have the whole of the North-East of Ari Atoll to themselves. The 2 famous thilas on the inside of the Atoll are "Maaya Thila" & "Fish Head". These dive-sites are now Protected Marine Areas. "Maayaa Thila", which has been described as "the white-tip reef shark capital of the Maldives", and "Fish head" described as "the grey reef shark capital of the Maldives". The latter has also been considered as one of the ten best dive sites in the world! On the outside of the Atoll are many number of enticing channel dives and several more top class thila dives. The list of resident fish includes barracuda, turtle, tuna, eagle ray, napoleon wrasse and even hammerhead shark. |

The house reef is good for snorkeling and diving. Bathala is another island where the guests could easily swim to the reef edge. It drops sharply to about 28 meters and the reef is in excellent condition. Since Bathala is specifically targeted at Divers, the rhythms of the resort reflect the schedule of the divers: start-up dive, lunch, afternoon dive, shower, relax on the beach perhaps, beer, dinner, bed. Still Bathala offers theme nights, table tennis, badminton, volleyball, carom, darts, boating, etc, etc,. At times, when one of our guest couple is not a diver. In that case the beach is freely for he/she during the whole day, perhaps for some tanning/reading or could enjoy the day's sea breeze nap, under a palm tree. Indeed, Bathala has great beach. One thing most of our guests has noticed at Bathala is the deep sand infront of the room, which is white and fine. |

Some of our guests doesn't consider the interior decoration as so attractive, with the service area having a concrete five-a-side football pitch and few good trees. So no need to linger on the way to the restaurant or bar. The public buildings are kept to a minimum, with the bar doubling as the coffee shop and disco floor.

There are two Breakfast buffets and four Dinner buffets in a week, the remainder are set meals and surprisingly good; mostly fish and chicken, but well prepared. |
