Olhuveli View Hotel is the earlier name given to this island and, when the island has a Japanese management, indeed, it looks more like a hotel than a typical Maldivian resort. It is an efficient set-up in substantial buildings on a beautiful island. |

One hundred and twenty five rooms are fitted on the island in two-storey blocks, made of concrete and painted pink. They are not too obtrusive because the island has a fine canopy of tall coconut palms and, on the ground, many colorful flowers and shrubs have been planted and well tended. Inside, the rooms are fairly large and luxurious. they are well fitted out with a minibar,, hairdryer and a television showing in-house videos.

The food in the main restaurant is OK, but the service is not friendly. The A La Carte restaurant is available as an alternative, and within that is a small, specialist Japanese restaurant which is very popular, even to the point of being difficult to book. |

For many people diving is the main object of their holiday and here it is very efficiently run. Inevitably the groups are large and almost all the diving is in the channels to the north of the island, which are shared by several other resorts, so these are sometimes crowded. But, on the other hand, these channels around Guraidhoo and Kandooma are recognized as some of the very best diving in the country. |

The island's lagoon is very large and shallow, but good snorkeling can be found from off the end of the jetty. The beaches are narrow but decent, with a particularly large area of fine sand at one and tapering off into the lagoon.

This resort is most popular with Japanese. However, things has been changing as a Maldivian company bought the island from the Japanese owners few years back. |
