Under new ownership this resort has changed its name and moved to middle-market, It is now All-Inclusive. Earlier being as,  "Ziyaaraifushi" it was a rough and ready German dive island. Today being as,  "Summer Island Village" it is smarter and more expensive, but still a German Dive Island.

Each evening meal is themed: Mongolian, Italian, Carvey, International, Barbecue and Oriental. And occasionally prawn or lobster evenings are set up on the beach for US$ 30/- supplement. All regular drinks are free, only premium spirits and wines must be paid for. Both the restaurant and bar are cool, dim thatched places with sandy floors.

In addition to food and drink, one island hopping, one night fishing and two snorkel trips a day are included. The house reef is not really accessible from the beach so up to six motor boat trips a day are made to nearby snorkeling spots. The large lagoon is perfect, however, for water sports and that centre is well-placed and stocked with just about everything.

The dive base leaders, Lydia and Michael, have lived here for eighteen years so far. Ofcourse by now they know every hidden tila and cave in the neighborhood. They run an efficient centre and know all their divers by name and proficiency. With 40 odd sites within an hour's dhoani ride, diving is very good here and, or but (depending on how you look at it), the change to all-Inclusive has significantly reduced the number of regular divers.

The 92 Standard Rooms are pretty tightly spaced around the three sides of the island and include a 2-storey block of 12 rooms (most of hellomaldives.com guests asks for the upstairs rooms). The base of the triangle has the best beach and uninterrupted views. One long side has a low wall just in front of the beach, while a third side has a wall set in the lagoon. The rooms are of a good standard, simple, neat and all with a/c and a third bed, but no extras.

At the tip of the island are 16 new Water Bungalows in four blocks of four. These are large, solid and square, similar to the Embudu Village ones, even down to the plate glass in the wooden floors. All the extra facilities are here, minibar, phone, hairdryer and satellite t.v. with 2 sports channels. It's a handsome room with good views out to the reef and the far horizon. But on deck you are entirely visible to your three near neighbors.

The third bed in each room encourages families to come and other details encourage return visits. The dive base gives a discount.

German speakers make up around 85% of guests here with British making up the rest.

Summer Island is not a beautiful island but there is enough beach to go around and the rooms are comfortable. The main reason to come here, though, must be to dive and if you concentrate on that you won't be disappointed.
